Assistive Product Braille Scanner

The smartphone app converts Braille into readable text for sighted people. The application works in a similar way to document scanners and attempts to automatically recognize and capture individual Braille pages in front of the camera lens. Machine-learning algorithms then attempt to translate the Braille recognized on the paper.

In its current version, the Braille Scanner focuses on translating the captured texts based on the American Braille standard "Unified English Braille (UEB) Grade 1".
The functions currently include automatic scanning, subsequent translation and export of the translated texts. A detailed view also shows which letters have been identified where on the paper.
