Handbikes and auxiliary drives are used to support the propulsion of manual wheelchairs. Wheelchair bikes are bicycle-wheelchair combinations.
Handbikes or wheelchair traction devices and auxiliary drives are used in conjunction with wheelchairs as alternative or supportive drives if, for example, the user's hand or arm strength is not satisfactory to overcome inclines or cover longer distances. They therefore extend the mobility radius.
