Assistive Product Quake

Quake is a breathing aid for expiratory exercises. Exhalation exercises with PEP (Positive Expiratory Pressure) are used to eliminate secretion congestion in patients suffering from acute and chronic illnesses of the lungs.

The device consists of a mouthpiece with an angled handle and is carried in the hand during use. Quake differs from other similar (expiratory) respiratory physiotherapy devices in that it has a crank. The patient exhales through the mouthpiece and turns the crank during breathing exercises to create a vibration. Depending on how fast it is turned, the vibration strength varies and thus the exhalation resistance, which loosens secretions in the respiratory system.
