Description:

The FireSafe valves are specially designed for retrofitting oxygen concentrators. According to the amendment to DIN ISO standard 8359, which came into strength on July 1, 2012, the penetration of fire into the device must be stopped at the oxygen outlet on all oxygen concentrators and the oxygen supply must be interrupted in the event of ignition of the accessories close to the patient. Retrofitting options should be made available by the manufacturer for all older devices. Retrofitting can also be carried out as part of annual maintenance.

Features / Components:

  • thermal fuse designed to interrupt the oxygen supply if the upstream PVC tubing is ignited, thus stopping the fire
  • plug-in connection between patient tubing and nasal cannula
