Stimulators for pain treatment

Electrical stimulation devices usually use stimulation current of different frequencies. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) stimulates the nerves by means of electrical impulses through the skin. The aim is to change nerve sensitivity and reduce sensitivity to pain.

The aims of therapy are, for example, to eliminate or reduce acute or chronic pain and thus possibly reduce the need to take painkillers or to restore motor functions - for example after lumbago, stroke or paraplegia.
